Title: Tu Flo TF750 to fit 6v92
Post by: Darkspeed on August 24, 2015, 07:16:28 AM
Anyone know which TF750 air compressor models will fit a lefty 6v92? every cross reference says type 60 for DD.

Thank you!

Doesn't matter whether it is a lefty or righty, the rear gear train turns the same. Good Luck, TomC

Just buy the right tilt that is the important part the oil has to return to gear train

My 6v92 came with no compressor, it just has a blanking plate.

Actually , compressor , alternator , hydraulic pump all had blanking plates as my engine was used as a test stand.

You have any drives behind the blank offs  ? you are going to need the drive ,plate and the shaft for a compressor those don't come with the compressor, figure out what you need I have a lot of that stuff

Better look, if you just need to add the cam drives that's not a big deal but adding the far left position that MCI uses for power steering is a big deal.  The DD flange is pretty standard but the compressors come in different tilts, the MCI tilt is 72 degrees I think.

I remember the Flex use about the same tilt as MCI off the upper cam drive, the power steering is from the blower, the alternator on the lower cam and that is important because of the special cam used to drive the alternator, then they used a auxiliary belt drive for the Ac compressor lol you know about that lower drive huh Brian

The big plate is for the alternator the spacer and adapter is not there, if you do or don't use I may have couple of adapters laying around

Thank you luvrbus!, what is your opinion of running air / alternator / hydraulic by belt vs by gear? any advantage / disadvantage? I do have the PTO on my v730.

You remember that, it was a while ago now.  I had to add the MCI power steering pump drive to my engine, start to finish that part of the job took about 20 minutes to actually add the drive, and 100 hours to get to where I could do that little piece of work, and put it all back together again afterwards...  You told me it was a job before I started, and you was right...   ;D

I have a 6v71 sitting in my yard that has a gear driven 12v 50DN, hydraulic pump, and compressor. Would I be able to steal the adaptor and spacer from it?
