Title: Fuel check valve
Post by: Sam 4106 on August 23, 2015, 05:44:27 AM
Hi guys,

Can someone tell me the location of the fuel check valve, between the tank and the primary fuel filter, on a 1976 MCI8? I think it is intermittently leaking, causing fuel starvation on startup. After startup the engine sputters a few times and the fast idle won't kick on. We are at a bus rally at Prior Lake, MN so I can't go into the pit to locate it and I can't see it from the side access door. We are scheduled to be at Central Truck, at East Bethel, MN, in the morning and I would like to have the fuel check valve replaced.

TIA, Sam

On our 8 it was at the fuel tank on the return line from the engine

Hi cliff,

I found it in the engine compartment on the return line, as you advised, but not at the tank. I did not expect to find it in the return line so I only looked for it in the supply line, since that is where it was on our GM 4106. Once again your knowledge has helped another bus owner.

Thank you very much, Sam
