Title: Another Webasto Question
Post by: bigred on August 11, 2015, 09:43:21 AM
On my 1993/1994 Prevost CC Conversion,The Webasto unit does not fire from the thermostats .I can jump start it from the unit itself and it fires. It kicked a lot of crap out the tail pipe when it started.Iknow the grounds were bad so I have reworked them but still won't fire from the thermostat .The question I have is this: There is a button that says "Webasto  Preheat" .The switches on this thing {and there are bunches and bunches of them} will turn from yellow to green when the switch makes. This switch does not make.We are having very hot weather in NC right now. Could it be that the preheat is on some kind of a thermostat that keeps it from making when the ambient temp is high? Also, what exactly does the preheat switch on this thing do??

Give me a Webasto education Luvrbus!!I have never had any experience with Webasto.I have one unit on my bus .What is the theory behind this thing ?.The info that came with the bus is very sketchy indeed. What I do know is this.Evidently ,mine only uses the antifreeze from the engine .and this furnishes bus heat ,drivers heat and engine preheat  And somehow runs through the house water heaters to help heat water .I  knw that some of the newer Motor Homes Have a tank that you have to use boiler antifreeze in.Mine does not have this.It is a compact little unit that fits in a  roughly a 10x10x18 in stainless steel trough.

Bigred, the best thing you can do is call Doug Beaudry @ Country Coach with the serial number he or 1 of the staff can explain how your system is plumbed and how to work it.Someone working there probably help build your coach the name is still alive and the Lee's own the repair center great people call Doug @ 541-234-2167 I am sure you have a tank and pumps for the cabin heat also

FWIW when National RV the owners of Country Coach at the time filed bankruptcy Bob Lee the founder of Country Coach paid a 150 grand for just for the name to keep his name sake alive and it's doing well by the Country Coach owners

Spoke with a friend that owns a 1997 CC says his unit won't fire with the water heater on electric or hot water in the tank
