What is frignn world coming too I needed 2 -3/32 Stainless welding rod, a welding supply cannot sell you individuals rods by law because they don't have a warning label he showed the letter, cost me 22 bucks for a 1# package with a lable to tell you the rods may cause cancer in laboratory rats what BS
Hey, that's $11 per rod and the rest are free, just add handling and postage. ;D
It is obvious you are not safety minded. You probably shake your head when you read the warnings on sleeping pills that says they may cause drowsiness.
This all started a long time ago when match book covers warned us to close the cover before striking the match.
Just like all of the safety warning labels on lawnmowers not to stick your hand in the discharge chute. Those labels or etchings may only cost a few dollars per mower but little things add up. To me, if you are stupid enough to stick your hand in the discharge chute when the engine running, you probably can't read anyway.
Yup, pretty much everything causes cancer to rats in California - I wonder if Arizonan rats are as cancer-prone as their brothers across the Colorado River. When I worked in the bike biz we had MSDS for the plastic-covered brake cable housings that apparently contained lead - I was told in all seriousness by a rep from Jagwire that it was to prevent people licking them! Talking about MSDS, there's even an MSDS for water: http://www.sciencelab.com/msds.php?msdsId=9927321 (http://www.sciencelab.com/msds.php?msdsId=9927321) I'm glad it didn't say to flush your eyes with water, like most MSDS tell you to do.

Luvrbus, I know you are stocked up at the moment but this is where I get mine > http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-Lb-ER308L-Stainless-Steel-308L-TIG-Welding-Filler-Rod-3-32x36-Ship-from-U-S-A-/200573770750?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb320dbfe (http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-Lb-ER308L-Stainless-Steel-308L-TIG-Welding-Filler-Rod-3-32x36-Ship-from-U-S-A-/200573770750?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb320dbfe)
Thanks for the link but I have plenty of S/S tig rods plus wire but I needed stick rods for project
yes Dumb Dumb I laugh a lot at them its getting way to much! :)
It would seem that if the store wanted to sell a couple of rods they could print the warning and give it to you.
If you can wait.....

Totally bs. All they would need to do is supply a msds for the rods. The company isn't going to make money if you roll in wanting to buy only 2 fricken rods. Many mfgs anymore make you buy more. A lot of GM and Ford fasteners have to be purchased in 10 or twelve packs.
I'd try a different supplier. (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X3%2F32+stainless+welding+rod.TRS0&_nkw=3%2F32+stainless+welding+rod&_sacat=0)
The 309 is what I needed made for welding on a Prevost or MCI Stainless to mild steel next time I won't read manual and use what I have
Ever read the MSDS for waterless hand cleaner? I forget the brand, but in the first aid measures section, in case of skin contact, flush with water.
I wonder why the label said waterless . . . . . I guess waterless doesn't mean what one would think . . . .
Too many lawyers trying to make someone with money responsible for a village idiot's actions.
Kyle somebody has to look after me

Me too!
Maybe you should come around more often.
The world is crazy!
I just hope something happens to straighten things out before all of us who remember how it should be are gone!

I'm sure Science Lab is required to supply an MSDS for anything they sell. They sell deionized water for $60 for a liter! I guess that is why they have an MSDS for it.
Reminds me of a hospital stay where they woke me up in the middle of the night to take my sleeping pill. Some things should not need to be stated. Anyone buy a good knife lately and read the warning that it is sharp and may cause injury? A knife? who would have guessed that you could cut yourself with a knife? Still, we hear of folks who have their car take off on them and they call 911 and then die while on the line rather than turn off the key or shift into neutral and let the engine blow. Common sense sometimes seems to be in as short a supply as single sticks of welding rod.

I'm amused that the MSDS for air (yes, even compressed air has an MSDS) states that it needs to be used outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
John
Common sense? Just look at the idiots that get elected in this country.
I'm for no warning labels. If you're too dumb to use the product.....well the gene pool gets deeper.

We need to go back to the concept of survival of the fittest. If we keep going the way we are headed the animals will be taking over.
When it comes to people doing stupid things like sucking on spray paint or sniffing gas, :o I say ' remove the warning labels and let Charles Darwin's theory of 'Natural selection' prevail. Problem solved. ;)
LOL I read the warning on a gas pump today like you are going to drink the gasoline or diesel
I used to drink diesel until I figured out beer was cheaper.

Ned, Looks like the October Non Rally will have to serve a dual purpose . . .
They'll find out that cancer is hereditary in mice.
