Title: Hi capacity fuel pump question
Post by: MC8Mike on July 24, 2015, 05:31:07 AM
Has anyone on the forum had any experience with a hi capacity fuel pump on a 8v92? I can't seem to find much information in the service manual and am wondering if they will work at all or if there is any advantage. Thanks, Mike.

I use the hi/capacity fuel pump or the DDEC fuel pump for all replacements it makes a difference on a 8v92 IMO

Ok, thank you, so there should be no problem with having to change the orifice or anything like that? Mike.

I'm not Clifford but it gives you better fuel flow better cooling in the injector and a little higher fuel pressure. Some times you have to go from a .070-.080 to .106 orifice, I have drilled the orifice to .095 and had good luck with a higher fuel pressure of around 10lbs or so.

hope that helps

Thanks Don, that makes sense, I'll  drill mine out to .095 then. I'm pretty sure I have an .080 orifice now. Are they any easier to prime with the hi capacity pump?  Mike.
