Yep. That is what we drove. Nuclear powered. Coast to coast in a few hours. Fully staffed to attend to the driver's every whim. I remember that movie. The car wash on the go stuck to my mind. Too bad none survived, or I would be restoring one...

My bus's House electrical power is provided by thermonuclear fission radiation.   Yeah!

If you mean the energy in your batteries originated in the Sun, then so did mine :) Except I think it's fusion rather than fission....

Sorry, you're right, it's fusion.   That nucular stuff is cornfusin'.   Thanks!

It reminds me of my first bus-- no 5a but usable.

I liked the speedometer in the first one they flashed on. It looked like it was out of a 67 Ford Galaxy.
Someone on the BNO board used to have the front of the Big Bus as their Avatar. Just remembered who it was,
It was Cheesie4905 (John)Look in May 2010 in BNO archives!....

Thanks for posting that interesting article. I saw the movies a few times but it didn't impress me all the much other than to kill time. Too much silly stuff like having room for a bowling alley and full bar on board within the size but it made a interesting story anyway.
I couldn't find anything what happened to the bus itself but if I had to guess, they probably dismantled or it's parked behind a studio building someplace. Such a concept wouldn't work on the interstate but perhaps as a high volume airline apron bus if the plane can't park near the gate. That way they could unload everybody from a jumbo 747 or 777 in one swoop.

Oh, OK.  You can keep my 20 min after all.  The build article was well worth the read. :D :D  Jack
