hey all,
I have been searching with no luck.
My clearance lights have always had issues so I called LUKE and had him send me all new units
today I took the first front one off and as I was unscrewing it the wires just separated so I cant tell which side is which.. the stock wires are both brown with no lettering on them.
mine are still 24 volt so I cam trying to figure out which side is hot and which side is the ground? or am I wrong and with these it doe snot matter?
any help would be great as I need to get these fixed asap so i can pass my bus inspection that I need to do next weekend.
thanks Ken C
As they are incandescent, it may not matter, but technically, there is a "correct" way. The numbering is printed all along the wires, usually in white lettering.
Suggest you get out the multimeter and test the two wires if you can't find it.
after messing with them for a while I used a good volt meter and I finally was able to find the polarity of the wiring and was able to get them connected and working.
I installed 6 of the front 7 so far.. still have 1 more front and the 7 rear
I marked mine with tape so I could know the polarity and now that I've replaced mine with LED I'm glad I knew the polarity

Where did you get your LED lights?
Bruce
HI Bruce, I just replaced the side marker lights on my MC7 with LED. 24 volt is hard to find, especially the larger size that I needed. I got them at Napa and they are a Grote light. IF you need more details.....just say. Couple Pics

I wired mine 12 volt. They aren't 24 anymore. Sorry. That doesn't help you. I know. But here's a couple of links for 24 volt LED:
