Title: Bus Kote recoat times
Post by: yvan on July 05, 2015, 08:22:13 AM
What's the least time I can wait between coats, It's 80 degrees and dry today. In the instructions it says overnight, but how long is overnight 8 hours , 16 hours etc. I did one coat at 8 this morning, and would like to do the other coat at the end of the day today (around 7 pm). Since the bus is all taped and I only have the garage for today.

I did a second coat an a S&S years ago and late in the evening after a sunny warm day------it rained and turned my work into (pardon my French) a BFM.  As long as there isn't rain or heavy dew or frost you shouldn't have a problem after 8 hrs of 80 degree weather.  My two cents worth.  Jack

My first MH was a 20 ft Winnie .That thing leaked like a seive .I started Kool Sealing it trying to get the leaks stopped. On the last coat ,it came a rain storm after about four hours. All I could do was wait for the rain to stop .I went to the RV and there was white streaks running down the inside walls everwhere.Got a bunch of rags and got the stuff of the walls and washed the outside .Unbelievably, there was very little on the outside and thankfully Kool Seal is water soluble .To make a long story short ,that thing dried out and I did not have another leak in the two years we owned it !!lol
