Well I'm bringing bus number 2 home from Dallas in the morning. No a/c, no road air. Just 2 small trucker fans for air circulation and a 13hr drive back to Colorado in 100 degree heat.
Looking to get this over with asap. Leaving early in the morning to try and get back into Colorado by mid day.

I've got to say it was enjoyable to work with Ken today (except for the 99 degree heat with no shade). Although he was able to get the auxiliary generator working, which hasn't run since 2008 or so, we were unable to get power to the house systems -- thus the roof AC's. Unfortunately, the house system was designed by an electrical engineer who thought it would be fun to make the system as complex as possible. Despite the two manuals he wrote, the word "complex" can also be spelled "confusing".
I'd hoped the OTR A/C would work, to the best of my recollection it worked last time I drove the bus, bringing it back from the repair shop 15-18 months ago. We started to troubleshoot, but the first step is accessing the Hi/Low sensor box, which is rusted shut.
Both problems are probably something fairly simple, if there was the time to troubleshoot, and a location where heat stroke wasn't a real risk.
Ken, I hope you have a good trip. Please let us know how it went after you get home.

Well we rolled in to Berthoud at 1 AM last night hot and exhausted. Ran in to only one issue and that was a lack of power. We changed out the fuel filters at a rest stop but it didn't seem to help. Might be either a fuel age problem or a tired engine. I seem to think, seeing it started right up and idled smooth, that it may be something with the fuel. No smoke at all when under load.
I feel like one of those lonely hotdogs at the 7-11 that has been sliding up and down on the cooker for 12 hrs.
Happy to be home in the air conditioning.
Big thanks to my friend Steve for bearing with all the road miles and the heat in Texas. At one point my temp gauge said 102 degrees. Those ice cold Budweiser's have never tasted so good!

Thanks ken. Glad to hear you made it :) we didn't fare so well. Bus is overheating and stuck at a pilot truck stop in north Fort Worth

We've been driving from Virginia to our grandson in Austin. Our 102 C3 8V92TA has been running ok. Lugged it too much one day at 109 degrees and it shut down. Since then, it leave by 0530 and stop early. We're at Canton TX now, Austin on Monday. It's hot but been fun. Averaged 6.9 mpg.

We made it home ken. No problems now that the overheat situation was fixed. Hey beast, we just bought and drove to Michigan a 102c3. We are headed back to Texas (without our bus) July 16. Will you still be around?
