Nice little article here about passers-by lifting a double-decker bus off a pedestrian trapped underneath:

I will bite.  There must be more to the story.  Where was the London Fire Brigade?  What if some of the mob hurt themselves lifting that bus?  What if the trapped victim was hurt?  How was the victim physically stabilized if needed?  Sometimes mob reactions are nearly impossible to control, like perhaps in this case.

If nothing else some Bobbies should have gotten control.  Maybe they tried but could not.  I for one do not have enough information to base an educated opinion except that things could have easily have gone wrong.  "You dropped that bus on my foot sir!"  Yikes!  HB of CJ (old coot) ex fire fighter and paramedic.

A very good example of crowd or mob dynamics for evil ... or good.
