Working in the bus today it was getting kinda warm. I've seen pictures of others who have propped their windows open. From day one I was never able to lift the aluminum emergency bar to open mine. even with the bar removed I could not force the latch down. I started looking at it closer and found out something which I would believe is specific to a prison bus. There is a little bar in the mechanism which prevents the latch from lifting. There must be different standards for passenger safety and prisoner control.

Hope they are not reading this. You just showed them the way out, LOL ;D :o
Must be a standard way of locking the windows on a prison bus as mine had the same bar. My bus (MCI 9) has an extruded aluminum "U" channel over the latches and no trace of a lift bar for opening the windows. Did your bus have lift bars? If so, I'd appreciate a pic of what they look like. Thanks, Jack
At least your windows had latches! None on mine at all, modded or not.
Krank, guess they really didn't want anyone getting out of your bus! Jack
