On our older MCI's like our '84 nine, where would one find the VIN #?

Two data plates: on rear bulkhead above the blower gearbox, and afixed to the panel above the driver's left shoulder by the side window.

Mark's right. . .
However, my '78 5C has had the one over the driver's left shoulder repositioned to inside the electrical compartment's inner door, outside underneath the driver's window. This was done by the converter, Angola Coach, when they installed the interior on the new shell.
FWIW & HTH. . .
;)
Ok thanks guys. I'll go looking. If there isn't a VIN in either of these places? How on earth can you reliably identify a coach?

The PO moved the one on the parcel rack above the driver to behind the carpeting of the stairwell wall.....didn't find it for almost 5 years.
There is one stamped on the frame at drivers side rear some place,I watched the guy at DMV check the numbers against my plate vin numbers a few months ago.He told me there is always a stamped number used by law enforcement
Also one inside the lower compartment below the driver stamped on the frame near the steering box!
This and the one above the blower gear box are the easiest ones I have found to locate.
As Clifford notes maybe one on the rear frame that I didn't know about!
Most charter buses had the VIN plate either above the driver or on the wall of the steps just inside the door.
;D BK ;D
Cool. Ok. Thanks!

Scott on my C3 the plate was on the left side of the steps about 12 in below the floor.
