Title: Diff oil
Post by: mikke60 on May 20, 2015, 08:33:24 PM
I just changed the inner oil seal on my rear axle. The screw that May have been the filler, before it was broken off seems like the only external way to fill. I am assuming topping off the differential will also get the oil to the bearing. Is this assumption safe?
Thanks.   Mike

Yes,

Tip the entire axle and be patient. Let the differential oil ooze past the bearings..

Those lubes are kept separate in our 4106.

Hi, Cliff.

Ours are aluminum as well. Maybe it makes a difference.
