Hey all,
I'm going to try and sound proof the enclosure for my 7.5 KW diesel genset and I went and searched through the threads for any suggestions and the only ones I could find are between $400 and $500 for 4 pneumatic mounts. I'm not spending that much money to lower a vibration level in my bus. Any other ideas?
Rick
not sure these will get you where you want to be...but it is what i have...

Rick,go to a truck wrecking yard a lot of trucks use the tiny bags for cab mounts I paid 5 buck ea for mine with me removing the bags they are easy to remove, fwiw they didn't help with noise level
off the wall idea that I have been thinking about for a couple of years for this. Get a couple of pieces of plywood big enough for the base of your generator, put a motorcycle inner tube between them, blow it up so the top plate (plus the generator) is floating, and locate it with posts in holes, or with horizontal springs.
It might work... :o

I mounted my genny on a half dozen valve springs which were trapped between lower and upper cups to limit lateral movement. It works great and stopped 99 percent of the transmitted vibration. What i used are motor mounts that fit 1972 dodge vans.around 5 bucks at orileys.thay should have them in stock.so you can look at one. and see if would work for you. ;D
McMaster Carr sells mini air bags for approx $45 each.

The ones I use are the "mini sleeve style". I have 4 on my generator. They work well.
Thanks one lapper I think I'll try the ones you recommended. But I'll also check some truck graveyards as well for the ones Clifford suggested.

Rick, air bags will help against vibration but not sound.
I had them on my Wanderlodge but removed them when I changed generators.
