The ECM has no analog output for this feature. I wish to add a dash gauge. Would it be possible to T-ee into oil temp sensor block location without corrupting signal to ECM DDEC IV. The oil pressure sensor is a very large fitting and would be more difficult. Any other locations on block? Bob
On my Series 60 I have two oil sensors side by side. One is for analog gauge and one is for DDEC. I'll try to remember to get a photo in the next few days.
I see oil pressure top on mine and oil temp directly below. Will look closer to see if there is a unused hole/plug. Thanks for info. Bob

And both of those have been replaced within the last two years ;D
There are 5 plugs on the oil filter base to install a gauge sender fwiw
Heading up in a little while. Saw plugs on filter housing but wasn't sure if they were coolant. Prob a dumb assumption on my part. That would be easiest to get to. Guess my head is just getting tired. OR burned out. Feeling Old today. Bob Thanks

No one could explain this to me but on my 14 liter the plugs on back of the filter mount produces 100 lbs of oil pressure at all times. I adjacently found out when I installed my oil pressure sender there. My original oil supply for the turbo came from there also. So I asked all the experts if 100 lbs oil pressure to turbo was OK? Yeah, Yeah, Yeah and Yeah. Well it's not. After the seal on the exhaust side of the turbo started leaking one cold morning I started doing my own search and found a document with a Europe Detroit Diesel label at the top that stated 67 lbs was max turbo oil supply pressure. Then I found the DD service bulletin that relocated the supply line to side of the block so the turbo gets normal engine oil pressure. DDEC IV maybe different, don't know.
My rear gauge on the 12.7 is feed from the filter base I never see a 100 lbs 65lbs is about the most ,the turbo is off the engine block at the rear.There is a supply line port for the compressor and the alternator that feeds from the front off the front cover on the passenger side up top both my compressor and alternator share 1 line fwiw
Moving over pit next week so it will be easy to view And get to. I have a small about 3 ft wide 3ft deep 8 ft long pit in floor in other bay. Until now the bus has not been mobile. Biggest job is to get that bay clear of extra parts. and treasures. Need to check everything after all the modifications/fabrication etc. Tie up loose ends IE mainly wires cables air lines. Bob

No. I replaced the one for the gauge probably four or five years ago. I think I was having some issues with the oil pressure readings from the DDEC, but it was more than two years ago and the problem seems to have gone away without me doing anything.
Lol. Sorry Brian. In reading it quick I thought you were Clifford. And we replaced the sensors. Sorry to confuse you.
Don't know if the 60 is the same as the 50, but on the series 50 the sensor for the ECM is on the the left side of the engine and the sensor for the oil pressure gage is on the right side. It is just below the exhaust manifold on the rear of the engine.

There is no shortage of taps on the series 60 for gauges ? for Ken do think the 100 lbs comes from the later oil pumps used on the later 12.7 and 14L because of the relief valve being in the oil pump I checked every plug on the filter housing and cannot find 100 psi ???
Most convenient place for me would be to tee into oil line at block that feeds air compressor. ? is would that give me a false reading because it is a feed line that is delivering volume of oil to air compressor? I can go somewhere else. Bob
