Title: 4104 original muffler install
Post by: Nel on May 08, 2015, 04:24:30 AM
Yesterday I installed the passenger side oval monster muffler I bought from Luke a couple of weeks ago.The ones in my bus are the twin vertical type on the 671. I loosened the V clamp on the top and the exhaust pipe clamp on the bottom, both sides loosened easily.I was working through the access hatch only to find it doesn't easily pull up and out the hatch.Next I loosened the v clamp on the driver side muffler and moved it over a bit to make more room, still not enough clearance to pull it up and out . Looking at it further , I noticed the shift and clutch linkages were still in the way, thought I might have to loosen those too but instead I had my son move the shifter and push in the clutch to see what would happen and sure enough , found if you move the shifter to first gear and hold the clutch in , it gave me just enough room to pull it up and out , still was a very tight fit but it worked .
Now, got  to figure out some cool looking exhaust tips, Thanks , Nelson
