Title: Basement Bedrooms
Post by: Point Blank Design on May 06, 2015, 02:14:13 PM
I am new to the forums and we are still on the hunt for our first bus. One thing I have been trying to find are any photos of basement bedrooms on BC and searching the web, with no results...

Does anyone have any photos showing how people are building these? I am leaning towards using a bay for a room for our 6 year old girl, I know she would love it!

Any input is appreciated! Jonathan

Not a naysayer, but a thought, the bays consume a lot of utilities and storage...

No problem, I am just doing my research as this could be something that would help out our family and space needs...

When we go camping / boondocking, we usually have 6 or more kids with us, so the bay bedroom is really a great place for the missus and I to sleep.  The extra sleeping space is needed.  It's extremely quiet, and I mean quiet.  The foam board insulation, carpet pad, and the memory foam mattress absorb sound perfectly.

I am not computer smart enough to lift photos but on Sell A Bus the Captain Ron is for sale with a bay bed room with windows on each each door, Vern will probably send you some photos

Before I read to the end of that sentence, I got two pictures in my mind.  One was that the bay bedroom would be a good place for *The Kids* to sleep.  The other one was a padlock!   ;D

I've tried my best not to reply to this thread--not that I have any gripes, I really wish I could stand to make sleeping quarters out of the bays on my MCI, but I'm having trouble enough just working in the bays without feeling closed in even with both sides open.  Do you suppose it has anything to do with the fact that as a kid I was plucked off the street and locked in the trunk of a car?  It all worked out OK for me (I was the wrong kid and was eventually let go) but I still won't wear pull over sweat shirts or sleep in a mummy bag.  I know, get over it :)  Jack

Well, being claustrophobic might put a kink in the basement bedroom plan!

The two of us sleep down there because it's very roomy..... As long as you're laying down.   Lol

I suppose I could build a basement bedroom for my low floor, but I'd have to carry it and a backhoe on a trailer.
