We're looking to buy an RV timeshare in Colorado, if one even exists. We don't want the resort areas especially, just a place to visit long term with relatives. Anyone know of such a place? Thanks
What part of Colorado are your relatives? That might be a big factor.
Generally in the Aurora/ Centennial area. It doesn't have to be right there, but a relatively short drive would be nice.
Go on line and put in RV time share lots Colorado in, Arapahoe County, Denver, Castle Rock, Hwy 470, Baily, Areas and see if any come up. HTH
Everybody that I know who's been involved with a timeshare property say it's nothing but a huge horror story. Personally, I'd stay away from them, unless you like nightmares!
Perhaps you should consider a workkamping position in the area?
Or just long-term at an RV park?

Thanks to both of you. Long term stay at a campground is second place. I hoped it might be cheaper to own than rent. RJ, I figured that the use of a dirt plot would not be anything comparable to the use of a building, and the association, or manager, would take care of the bath house and other common areas. I know things are never as simple as I hope.
By the month you are probably going to be about 450.00 on up. When we did it that's what we paid per month. We had free laundry facilities. Paid 55.00 a month for electric and we had our own Gas. Found out later we were the only ones paying and other work campers got theirs for free. So talk to the others first and find out these places are all different. We put in 35 hours a week each and were told originally 20 hours each. Wage was 9.00 an hour.
If you own you pay big up front costs and then there is maintenance fees, yearly association fees, etc, etc. Depending on the policy's you sign when you buy. Then if you want to sell it later it will cost you to get out of it also or take a lose to get rid of it.

If you are a FMCA member in the back of the magazine there are all kinds of sites available for sale, rent short or long term. Many get into time shares and then find out they do not want to go to the same place every year so they try to sell or rent out the space.
I don't know about other area's of Colorado. But Denver's rent is up to 900.00 a month 300.00 deposit on electric. And the city actually patrol's the parking lots to keep people from staying over night on them. I saw one guy pull in to buy groceries at a Walmart he didn't even make it in Walmart before the told him he had to leave. And you don't dare leave any tools of anything un chained down or attached to anything if you don't want it stolen. lost 5 Nail guns at one time , and 2 on the job unplugged from my air hose's while I took a break. So you know what I actually think of Denver. I 've never worked anywhere with more thieves than Denver.
I appreciate the replies. I believe we will buy a housebuilding lot and connect utilities and use it when we want to be there. As long as I build something eventually, I expect I can keep a permit alive for the amount of time I need it.
