Title: 4104 original driver seat post
Post by: Nel on April 28, 2015, 05:03:39 AM
Guys, anyone know how to adjust or lock in position the original 4104 driver's seat post. Mine moves up and down. Is it suppose to lock in a position? I see a pin type assy near the forward part of the post , that slides in and out , but no knob of any kind, Thanks , Nelson

If necessary, pull the seat off the post. There should be a large spring and a locking pawl. It is either rusted fast, sticking or missing. No knob; just the pin. Since it has been some time since I sold mine and memory fading, see if the pin has a slot in the end. If so, turn it with a screwdriver to lock pawl.

Locks in each click up when raising.

Releases and drops to bottom when lifted to the top.

Lubrication will be dry, nobody greased it since 1962?

Happy coaching!
