Hello All,
I was sent a link to a Chicago Craigslist posting for a Scenicruiser. Anybody know anything about this one: http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/rvs/4978857566.html (http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/rvs/4978857566.html)
Demoman
Nope not me but the best looking part of the bus are the Eagle tail lights IMO ;D
Funny Clifford,
I thought you would say the best part was the circa 1984 Olds Delta 88 headlights! LOL
Yuck
PD4501-805 Tom Bojan. Good project for a motor home. Lowered floor. auto trans. Toms' a good guy. I've seen this one in person. He saved it from scrap in Connecticut a few years back. Had it hauled to Chicago. Needs a good home. Been tempted myself before, but I have no need for a motor home, and it should be saved, not parted by me. Anyone interested can PM me. This is 150 miles from me.
It has the rare 8-72.
Tried to look at it says posting expired.
See what happens when you put Eagle parts on a GMC? Now the GMC is starting to rust. BEWARE!!!!
It says make offer. I think he would need to offer someone money to take that thing off his hands.
If someone is looking for a scenic not a bad start just going by Tom's comment. aired up and all one color would make a difference looks wise
Good thing I don't have the time/money/space. Seems like a motivated seller, probably will sell for scrap value.
Heres' a Scenic that has two expensive and somehwhat hard to do items, already done. Lowered floor, and auto trans. Both these items, along with the NEW 8v71 were done professionally in Dallas in the late 1980s. Granted the engine has been sitting around a long time, still lots of potential here. If I wanted/needed a conversion project, I would be all over this one. you will never find one cheaper, and further along. It's a shell....clean slate.
Yes It my look ugly but it has good bones. I have had several offers from scrappers but would really like to see someone save her. I just don't have time.
I my have no choice but to let it go for scrap.
As I would prefer to also see it go to a new loving home, if it doesn't find one and has to to get scrapped, would there be a chance to get some parts?
Thanks,
Jack
Was the floor professionally lowered? Isn't it possible to seriously weaken the structure if the the floor isn't lowered properly?
Yes, they can be weakened if not done right. Yes, floor was professionally lowered on tghis one. My buddy Fred Rayman ("Mr. Scenicruiser") in OKC has known of this bus for several years. He told me some time ago that a shop in Dallas did the work on this bus in the late 1980s.
Craigslist has expired.
Anyway to get info ? Or is it too late?
;D BK ;D
