Just used my 1" earthquake air wrench. Took the lugs off the rear like butter. Best $100 used tool I ever bought!
Sounds like it could also take the studs off to,,,be careful.>>>Dan
Mine did the problem so well, I plumbed in a connection to the bus. A 1" by 35' hose allows me to change my own tires on the side of the road. Of course, they are hand-torqued.
With any luck at all that will be a wasted effort, I have 50 foot of air line coiled and ready, but its used to adjust air in tires when needed and that is rare.>>>Dan

That 1" line is the key. I tried using my 1" driver with a regular (3/8"?) line and it was pretty much useless. Once I had a big supply line it felt like a jack hammer.
Seriously, a 1" air supply line? The 1" is the ID when you are talking about these things. I have two 25 foot 1/2" lines for my big air gun. Regular old air lines are usually 3/8" or 1/4", and the gun barely turns itself with 50 feet of 3/8" line. You need the big quick connectors, too, I found.

That's the key right there that you hit on zubzub, large supply line. Many people do not understand this.
You don't need a 1 in gun my old 3/4 I/R will hit hit harder than a H/F 1 gun in any day of the week with the 1in air line
Being in the trucking industry for nearly 40 years, 21 of those driving cross country for 1.3 million miles, I have never changed any of my tires, nor am I ever going to start. There are just too many things that can go drastically wrong with changing a tire, not to leave it up to the professionals. Even "professionals" have been injured or killed changing a tire. Not worth the few bucks saved. Plus-it's not like we're living in the wild west anymore-always a tire guy within a few minutes away. Good Luck, TomC
that mat be, but there are a lot more reasons to take a tire off.... As Clifford said a well taken care of ( and even the not so well cared for) Ingersol Rand air tools are the best.
I still have old Cleco 1/2 inch gun that'll beat the pants off my CP ;D
Yep can't beat IR, best out there
IR is top notch, no doubt, but for Less than $100 used, my Chinese knockoff does the trick the one or two times a year I need it
My I/R is so old it didn't cost a 100 bucks new ;D
I have a 1/2 inch electric impact wrench that will do up to about 250 ft/lbs of torque. After breaking lugs with the torque multiplier, the wrench will spin the lugs off. I spin them back on the same way and hand torque the rest.
That said, I do this if I want to work on something that requires tire removal--generally at home. Although I could do it on the road for a tire change, I agree with Tom about leaving that to the road service professionals.
Way back when we used to test the 1/2 inch guns on removing Detroit heads...timed event ;D
Two days ago i took off 9 out of 10 lug nuts on one of my front wheels with my IR 1/2 gun before my compressor kicked on.

Is it the 2135timax?
The modern 1/2 inch guns have made huge strides. I have a CP 920, which is roughly equal to the 2135 in power, though the IR is probably built better.
It busts off my 1 1/2" budd lug nuts no problem.
Yes it is the 2135ti
