There are 10kw Power Tech generators coming up for auction 5/21/15 in Owego, New York. Go to www.govliquidation.com (http://www.govliquidation.com) event 21511 lots 5178 to 5185. These are new and never been used on slides. 1ph, 10kw 45 amps 220v.
Hi Steve!
You know, govliquidation.com really ticks me off. A 16% buyer's premium on this lot, usually it's 10%, but that's not the issue. I have seen them extend the auction by 4 hours if they aren't happy with the bidding. I've heard that they've bumped it out as long as two days!
A few weeks ago I was considering bidding on a 1971 Gama Goat military vehicle (small 6x6 truck with an ALUMINUM Detroit 3-35!). The opening bid went from $25 to $7900 within 1 minute. It sat at the price for 5 days, then a few bidders were active in the last 10 minutes, then the auction was extended 1 hour. Then another hour! I was so bent out of shape I turn off the laptop and walked away.
I have heard of some people getting a deal, but I don't know anyone personally.
Many (most?) trade online auction sites auto-extend the auction if there is a bid within the closing minutes. If you think about it it's a better way of doing things and more closely replicates a live auction. But lots of people have grown-up with Ebay and assume that the way Ebay do it is the 'right' way - sniping included

Those generators are probably going to be hard for a average person to buy PowerTech will end up with the generators to keep their prices up, that happen to us on some new Cummins engines they (cummins) ran the price up so high you could buy a new one from Cummins. Then you have all the users end crap to deal with .
Homeland Security decides what you can use the stuff for it's taken us a month now to be cleared to buy 4 Humvees that have been paid for already but no clearance yet

The annoying part was that the auction ended at 12am EST, then it got extended by an hour twice!! I just couldn't stay awake.....
It's amazing, a friend of mine is scrapping tons of Humvees and the contract specifies they are to be scrapped. The only thing he is allowed to sell are the tires/rims. You know anyone that wants a few thousand?
I have 2 Humvee that will be delivered here on Friday from Barstow marine base they don't have to be parted out according to my end users agreement, now getting a title from the DMV in AZ could be a different ball game we will see ;D
Some of the stuff on the site is not government, just about anyone can auction excess stuff on the site too.
Looks like the exact 10kw I have in my bus, except I have remote radiator. Those have the older style big alternator. I once put an almost 11kw load on the generator. Caused the engine to put out some black smoke, but pulled it. The cooling air coming out of the alternator was just barely warm. Indicating an efficient alternator. Good Luck, TomC
