Title: STOOPID KAMPGROUNDS
Post by: boxcarOkie on March 29, 2015, 06:53:28 PM
Who sez "absence makes the heart grow fonder?"

These RV campgrounds are getting so selective, hopefully someday they are going to realize that they need us more than we need them, if you stop and think about it.

Strictly speaking for myself here, thankfully I don't run campsite to campsite or spend a lot of my time hanging on the pole.

If they don't like my bus, that is okay, I will take my tired old hoopie and my disposable income somewhere else.

No skin off my nose.

Just thought I would vent a little as it is has really started to irritate me somewhat. That, and the fact that Little Eagle Guy Who Cannot Fly is now ignored by three more people than me, and he isn't even trying.

I present to you a mystery.

"My bus is 40ft long and I pull a 16ft trailer, my overall length is 74 feet."

Must be the "new math" my grandson was talking about.

Here's the full text of my post...
My coach is 40ft. Eagle, I pull a 16 ft trailer and the wife drives are "classic"  1995 Tahoe. total is 74ft + I have never not found a place to park where ever I have gone in 11 years of full timing.

you never stop do you.... add the length of my car dipstick.

you really need to get a life, what happens at Facebook needs to stay at Facebook ya creepy stalker.

now i'll go back to ignoring your sorry personality.

PS say something in defense of Ros and maybe you can catch up with me. I gained 5 ignores trying to support him.

Well I have 9 now and didn't have to do anything...I guess it's sacrilegious to respond to you. :P :-[ :P

Oh well. No skin off my nose.

I used to be indecisive ... Now I'm really not so sure.

Okay I will take a stab at it anyway.  You are 74ft and ONE DIPSTICK long.

Noting you are once again "on the  move" I will try hard to catch you as you are now up to nine.

Here goes:  "I like ROS ... He reminds me a lot of Eagle 19952."

Forget the Stoopid Kampgrounds thread, we now have a potentially new subject ... If you check your profile and are being ignored by three you are normal, if it is more than three, seek professional help (Dr Phil doesn't count).  Mine currently stands at five, what does that tell you?

Now let me see, I am 40ft long on my bus, 24ft long on my trailer, my wife drives a 15 ftTahoe, I have a pickup (short-bed does that count?), John Deere tractor ... 4 of them have dipsticks ... subtract one, carry the three ... Wow!  I better swing wide at the fuel pumps when I leave, whadya think.

That sound about right?

BCO

P.S. I have been saying "Watch those Right Handers" for years, guess I was ahead of my time after all.

First one to twelve receives the full set!

Pretty evident "this" isn't going anywhere productive any time soon.  Try this instead.

Have been home about a week now, back in "the swing of things" familiar surroundings, smells, routines.  It is always nice to get away, and believe it or not, I am ready to head out again.

On the other hand, the wife is not.

Driving to town yesterday on the Super Slab to purchase even more LED's to light up the Mothership and perhaps attract Charlie Sheen, I looked over at my bride and said, "You ready to do it all again?" and her answer was a firm, resounding "No!"  (What else would you expect from a woman who has thirteen episodes of Date Line on her DVR?)

There seems to be no wanderlust in the woman's soul, she will never make a good trucker.  One thing I have noted that definitely hinders her, is her inability to make up her mind on what her super-secret-CB-code name will be.

This could very well be a problem.

Back in the day, as a friend of mine always puts it, we would find me hauling apples out of Washington State to Dallas or dead-cluckers out of Arkansas to the West-coast.  So I am used to the road, it is always calling my name, like a lover in the dark.  I often think of it, even today, it is right there, just four miles down the road from my little Goat Farm in Oklahoma.

But as with all things in life, it has changed.

Folks talking on Cellphones, Texting, throwing Chicken Bones out the window.  CB Radio is now void of good chatter, a lot of people on there speaking Farsi or Spanish, not a whole lot of interesting things being said (unfortunately it all sounds like gibberish to me).  To be candid about it, I am not sure where they are from, but pretty much sure it isn't Birmingham or Atlanta.

Most of the Road Monkey's (Professional Drivers my butt) out there are not as courteous as they used to be, and the volume of traffic has increased exponentially over the years to where it gets downright crowded at times.  Not only on the trucking side of the scale, but on the travelers side, I note a big change.

Could be the influx of immigrants (illegal or otherwise) filling the roads of America.  A great many folks now are driving, owning a motor vehicle in this country, for the first time in their lives (which was impossible in their country of origin).  This has definitely proven to be a challenge for some of them.

Take the woman we came across in New Mexico recently.
This woman is driving for first time on the highway.
Her husband calls her cellphone and says:
"Be careful honey, It's just been broadcast on the radio, that someone is driving opposite to the traffic on the highway..."  She replies: "Someone? These idiots are in hundreds!"
(yeah I know, but whadya expect for free anyway)

Slowly I am learning to move amongst them and still do my thing.  Sharing the road with some who clearly do not know how to drive.  Which is fine with me, if I have learned anything in all my years, it is how to be flexible and adapt to change.

These days, I am more than willing to share the American Highway with all of them.  Just wish they would stop throwing all of their trash out the window.

Watch them Right-Handers.

Now this is a wandering thread that is worth reading!!! Laughed my @$# off

In case any newbies needed any confirmation that folks here own buses and are certifiably nuts. This should settle any doubt.

She is probably watching to see when you show up on the "To Catch A Predator" episodes.

I'm still waiting for someone to drive into a brick wall and then the cop asks him or her what happened and/or why did they do that. "Well the GPS said the road went thru here."

You guys are wimps, I made up a fairy tale and got banned from a different web site.  Now that is the way to maintain your popularity.

How can you be banned from a website you didn't make the comment on ? it makes no sense, not saying it didn't happen just I never heard of that before

I wondered that my self, but I always try to take the least traveled path and, sometimes I end up being the first. (usually the first in deep $h@t)

I'm not really sure what the purpose of the ignore feature of the site? One user is ignoring me though I don't ignore anyone so I guess it's a badge of honor. If you don't like someone or their posts, why not just disregard them? It's like going to a restaurant and proclaiming that the food is lousy and stay anyway when there is one that you like across the street.

Hey that is pretty good ... Predator?

Sure hope you weren't up all night coming up with that.  Let see, if I put all of these childish names on my name tag, I will not be able to get out of my bus, as I will be too wide to fit thru the door.

How's the old escape ladder for your bus coming along, haven't seen any reports lately.  Y'know, how was it you put it ... in case you accidentally lock your keys INSIDE the bus ...  And here all along, you and Donald thought I wasn't paying attention.

Almost sounds like a bad Redneck Joke from the deep south doesn't it?  Help! Me and Bubber are locked in the pickup and had to break a winder to get out."

Predator ... Yeah that is a good one.  I like that.

Yours came in second, the best one of the week so far is ... "We are all here, because we are not all here."

That has to be the winner, clearly Vernon Mung you need to try harder.

BCO

All this work, and only one new ignore, you people aren't even trying.

Umm when is the last time you were checked to see how your Alzheimer meds are working?  I NEVER said that.

What I said was, I would like to use the emergency exit as a second door so that I can exit and enter my bedroom without going through the entire bus, I never said anything about locking my keys in the bus.  My main reason for wanting to do that is if my kids are sleeping in the front of the bus it would be nice to not disturb them if I desired to go outside.  It is a courtesy thing, something you know nothing about.

Why don't you take your lame wannabe Garrison Keiller rants over to the other board and leave this one alone?  You are a sad little man with no meaning to his life and the only way you can feel like you have even an ounce of significance in this world is to bully people into playing your sick games.  You really need therapy.

Hey,

I have to admit I thought everyone was playfully goofing around in this post and I see now that isn't the case.

Reminder: Newbies are watching and this is a BUS blog. Go start a personal insult blog if you can't stand one another but aren't capable of pressing the ignore button.

Many here claim to be geniuses when it comes to buses and all things political, mechanical and spiritual. Yet you can't find the ignore feature? Really?  May I suggest the moderators post a "how to" video on ignoring someone you don't want to hear from for the technologically challenged among us?

Tell us all again how it's the younger generation that are wrecking our country, yeah they are the problem because they weren't taught the meaning of the word respect. As you act like a bunch of petulant children.

Rick

Ignoring someone isn't going to stop them from posting things about you or others.  I just don't understand why it is even remotely acceptable for one person to bully many others on 2 different boards.  Not only does it seem to be accepted, some of you think it is funny.  I personally stand by my statements that it is a call for help from someone who needs serious therapy.  Otherwise what would the purpose be of coming back from a trip and without any provocation starting to rip into people?

Believe it or not, it is doing much harm to these boards, it isn't funny at all, the off topic rants are not cute and are not as witty as the author would like to believe.  The only purpose they serve is to drive hits to his blog which is as lame as the rants are on here.

Personally, I pay for a subscription to the magazine and I wish to be able to come here and read about valid bus topics and not see someone bashing people who have helped me with being able to do things to my bus.  When I see someone who offers little to no actual assistance to anyone wasting space and bandwidth to start trouble with people so that they can have someone pay attention to them, it seems like a huge waste to me.  Because of one person, I rarely even check here or BNO anymore, pretty sad don't you think?

This and the other thread by the same author is like watching a train wreck, or driving past an obviously fatal car crash on the Interstate.  You know that what you will see is very bad, does no one any good what so ever, is probably going to cause you nightmares, but you still look.  You have to look, if only for the lonely and forsaken hope that it isn't as bad as you expect it will be.  You can say just don't read it, but you can't tell if you shouldn't read it until you've read it.

This forum has officially reached a new nadir of STOOPIDITY.  Thanks for that, BCO, it's good to have goals in life.  Oh yes, my SHITE comment was about you, not anyone else.

There is enough crap in the world, why do you need to bring more to our tables?  Here is some real life crap for you to enjoy;  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/peoplesdaily/article-3017695/Heart-breaking-moment-five-year-old-girl-finds-missing-pet-dog-Flower-sold-ready-cooked-Vietnamese-stall.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/peoplesdaily/article-3017695/Heart-breaking-moment-five-year-old-girl-finds-missing-pet-dog-Flower-sold-ready-cooked-Vietnamese-stall.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490)

RickB you have been caught in the spiders web.

As I said I have been ignored by atleast 5 people for supporting Ros. I have nothing to apologize for.

Except perhaps my reactions to those who did not.
