Title: Hunting for switches
Post by: Zephod on March 13, 2015, 06:19:21 PM
I'm hunting in vain for a SPTT switch. Has anybody any ideas where to get one? Its the toggle switch that controls my wipers - off, lo, hi or off on on. Mine is broken - its a bitch to get the damn wipers to turn off once they're on!

More info would probably help, but you could try www.delcity.net (http://www.delcity.net) they have a lot of switches. Gerry H

If you mean SPDT toggles they are available at any auto parts store or ebay.

There's the problem... They're Single Pole Triple Throw not Double

I think there were some on-off-on switches on Waytek.  They'll do what you need, but you'll have to adjust to having low speed down and high speed up.

I think I'd just go to a junkyard and find an old wiper switch from a 1960s vintage car and put in there. They were turn type activation, but they were three
position, if I recall correctly.

Maybe you could even order one from NAPA. Tell them you want a wiper switch for a 1965 Chevy.

Seems to me from reading this that you are looking for something like a ceiling fan switch that controls the three speed fan.

Everyday at the local hardware or big box lumber store.

BUT we could keep looking for alternative sources.

I have these switches on all my fans, wipers and etc..., they work very well.

Cole-Hersey would be my guess as well. They have a great selection of toggle switches. HTH
