Anymore ... ;D
Just heard from Ros and reckon he must have robbed a 7-11 or something cause he's sportin a new bus, having driven it atleast 100 miles.
Way to go Ros, I'm happy for you, keep on BusNuttin !!
Yep he said he was at CHooChoo Garage having them put in new Brakes and was having a hard time finding the Drums.
The drums are behind the wheels... ;D
What did he buy?

Something that needed to have the brakes rebuilt before he could drive it a hundred miles ...
Cute George!.... ;D
A GM 40 footer with big luggage bays! Showing good sense to get it checked out, if the drums aren't cracked and are within limits I'd be wishing for a brake lathe... Those old drums had a lot of meat on them, but the machine to turn them has gone the way of the dodo.
brian
LOL a little late to have it checked out after it is paid for I would say,he may need to have a insert made for the drum like I did on a 4905

That was today's laugh out loud moment!
If it needs shoes or drums it probably does not have Jakes.>>>Dan ::)
Interesting that not a word has surfaced from Ros himself about this.
???
It has over at BGM. I got him some numbers for Drums that My guy here gave me for 4903 and 4905 that he can look for back there.

he has limited internet access.
Not a word from ROS is that good or bad ;D
Ros's profile says he hasn't been active here since first week of January. This doesn't mean he hasn't been reading posts as a guest.

not yet...4903 drums the same ?
any contact or part numbers ?
Would be nice to know where in Oregon ???
Sorry, wrong thread. I thought Nottawannabe was one of those exclusive New England summer camps for rich kids.
When he gets in the next couple of days he is going to call with name, parts and contact number I have no idea if a 4903 and the 4905 are the same

The busnut in need thanks you in deed ;D
The 4905 and the 4903 do, in fact, use the same brake drums, front and rear.
Bob
I talked to Ed @ Jefferson today why is he looking for drums Ed told me he sent him the drums already, but anyway Kerry at Kaiser Brake and Alignment in Eugene OR can get him the drums if he still needs them 541-344-5887
last i heard he was not looking anymore ???
He is posting like a fiend on another site, says he was run off from the others. Said he got 1 block before trouble started. will probably turn on me for mentioning him, like the last time. Anyhow, several options are being discussed at length. If someone has or knows of the location of a useable set of drums I am sure the Folks at the shop where he is at would like to get the bus on the road.
Oh my! Didn't listen to all the good advice most folks had on the forum. Well, live and learn or not. Good luck!
smh... he made it 2 blocks because that's where he picked up the bus ... ???
I understand he went to Choo Choo to have them look for problems, which unfortunately they found. Aside from the brakes the bus appears to be mechanical sound, so if brakes is the only problem it's not that bad
Well welcome to the perils of coach ownership. Even if you do you own work it can and does get expensive. If his coach is like my 76,000 mile coach, always something to fix.
When I had the brakes done on my first bus, a 4905, it was $11k to go through the brakes. Maybe all the advice about "you get what you pay for" that folks tried to give him is making a little more sense now... but I doubt it. I defended him until I took a step back and saw he was throwing gasoline on the fire every time he could reach the gas can.
I don't miss the drama I'll tell you that much.

More like pissing gasoline ...
Kerry will find him the right drums unless he gets pissed off then he won't help

Pretty easy to predict the outcome of that one then.
Did he find the drums and leave the shop yet ?
All done Cliff, now installing jakes and maybe repairing water pump housing? Not sure about the water pump issue.
Apparently the drums were misdirected on shipping and so they waited an extra day or two for the shipper to find them. the drums were virtually new.
After the install there was a 50 mile test drive, ChooChoo blessed the motor as worth putting on the Jakes.
All is weller in Georgia/Chatanooga... ;D
People over look ED @ Jefferson but he and Luke are neck and neck when it comes to GM buses ED is a sharp guy on GM and not to shabby on Eagles now either since taking that part over when Norris retired , glad he up and running
