Title: House batterys 6V "golf cart" type
Post by: jjrbus on December 31, 2006, 12:29:36 PM
After 4 years of abusing my 4 house batterys, it looks like I have finally murdered one! When I bought these the general opinion was that the Sams club 6V Golf cart batteries were the best bang for the buck. Is this still true! Where are you buying your batteries?

Last time I checked Sams was about 48 each. The Trojan T-105 75-9-.If I was replacing one I would hnut a used one a t a golf course and put used with used. If buying all 4 different story.I use this thing and it works  www.batterylifesaver.com  and it works. I had 6 reconditioned set up on 12v and went to 24v and needed 2 more to make 2 banks of 2vv and I bought 2 they thought junk at 5 a piece and they've been running great Good luck

Sams Club raised prices to $62 some time last summer.  A friend who works at Interstate Batteries said the price of lead increased significantly.

Are interstate batterys the same as what they sell at Sam's?

I'd like to know more about this:
QuoteI use this thing and it works  www.batterylifesaver.com  and it works.
I went to the site, but would like to know if others have had good luck with it. It almost sounds too good to be true. But I hope it is true!

My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I recall the Sam's Club batteries are made by Johnson Controls now.  Sam's Club is using the Energizer brand name on their lead acid batteries these days.

Sam's Club switched brands on their lead acid batteries last summer and increased prices pretty steeply at the same time.

Sam's Club battery your talking about works great for me. Just make sure that you buy 2 at a time so that the 6 volt batterys charge evenly. I have four in my O4 bus with a battery selector switch (Marine type) I can switch from one bank to the other or both or shut it all down to off for storage.  Good Luck   T. Chellis
