Is that a good price? I ask because I just bought 2 sets of #1 gauge jumper cables 25 feet long for $70 They are fine strand wire. Not to say I would use them in place of battery cable, but I don't know what makes one kind of wire more desirable than another.
Eagle set forth the difference as I was typing, I see it now.
sounds like a deal to me....
I am sorry I did say marine battery cable right! That means the wire is tinned,so it dosnt get green and corrosion ! I did my research its goes about 6-7 $ a foot

Why spend 3-4x the money for boat cable when you don't need it?

$2.37 a foot, but you have to by 100 ft. spool.
Napa often sells it by the foot. Welding supply shops will usually cut welding cable by the foot.

no it doesn't.
Bestboatwire.com sells this for $4.84 a foot plus shipping. Genuinedealz.com sells it for $5.15 a foot and shipping is free. They are the same company. The difference is the shipping cost. I compare final cost at both and often bestboatwire.com is cheaper.
All set guys, Thank u
If your thinking of making up your own cables it may be cheaper to have a battery shop do them. When I was building my house battery back I was going to make my own but after pricing all the cable, connectors and a good crimp tool it came out less by letting my local battery shop do them in each color. I just gave him the specifications on each cable and I had them in a few days.

And if you're specifying your gauge, color etc. you have flexibility to get exactly what you need. I don't know what other uses call for but my bus uses 4/0 cable for the battery connections and my inverter specifies 4/0 cable for the main inverter pos and ground cables. There are probably good uses for 1/0 cable but it would be pretty small for most of my cable uses.
And Clifford, on my bus I have a short (approx. 12") jumper lead between my two start batteries (series to make 24V). When I made it (a friend happened to have a cable crimping tool), I made a 4" section of the cable at one end with red heat shrink on it so it's color coded for the correct connection to the battery posts. Probably not necessary, but I like that it's there.

Thanks for posting that chart, I found it useful - in fact, I copied the the graphic off and put it in my "electrical data" file for when I need it in the future (and I'm sure that I will need it in the future.) Thanks for posting that chart, it's really helpful.
