I thought I had the way to find out more about the history of our MCI 7, but I don't.
I know there is a way to find out the history on our MCI 7 here is the serial #S10169 Unit #12388.
We have owned this conversion since 2002 and I am finally getting around to finding out the history.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
We will be in Quartzsite in Jan and hope to see some of you down there. We will be at the High Jolly campground with some of our regular motor home friends.

Dave, I tried that site recently and came up empty handed. I believe RJ told me of a group on yahoo, but I lost all that information and have gone no further with my hunt for the information.
my VIN is S10091
Thanks Dave
I tried that one and as Low Tide said there is nothing on there about mine.
Many Thanks

If you have ever ordered parts from MCI or have any type of contact with them they can tell you the original owner of your bus. I simply asked when I was ordering windshields and the lady I worked with sent me an email telling me the original purchaser from MCI's records. By the way Ed who got the white chair?

Mike are you talking about, Yahoo group MCI-Bus-Nuts. That group is so dead. It still is there but not much action has gone on there for a long time. A few emails etc and that's about it. its a really hard site to navigate the way it is set up. Yahoo keeps messing with groups and they just get worse IMHO :o
Ed on Anglefire there are two bus deliveries with your number but not much info about it.
another one further down with the S but your number is like mine, it is between the numbers shown. Saudi coach are not detailed there just the number.
Yours may have never been used in service other than to be a shell bus for a private owner. Just guessing there but possible.
I have called 3 different MCI and they told me they don't keep records that far back but hey maybe you will get lucky.
I thought all the MCI 7 built went to GreyHound
Thats what i was told by some also, Clifford but I noticed when I was in that site that a lot of them went to private carriers like one called "Brown's" but that was all it said.
Dave
Brown could have been a affiliate of GreyHound
If you pay close attention to that Angelfire site, the vast majority of listings are for Canadian deliveries, very, very few USA. Exception being the Saudi units.
I wonder what ever happened to that fellow on the Yahoo group who had complete delivery rosters?
FWIW & HTH. . .
;)
Thanks everyone. I will call MCI when we get back from Quartzsite.
Melbo I got the white seat we got from you. I pulled rank and told her I wanted it, course that was after she decided we needed new carpet, couch and yes a new chair for her. Had to build a new base to mount the seat I got from you. Had some problems with it, cured with a better ground. Love the seat. Last time out the heat and vibrator decided not to work and just have not got to finding the fuse. Love the seat.
Ed
Cool Ed
I'm glad it worked for you

If that's the case with Greyhound and or Brown's then its possible the early Mohawk business ventures.
Good Day
MC7 were sold to anyone.
MC6 were the special build for Greyhound, the plan was to replace the GM 4501, but the Government didn't give in to the 102 inch wide coaches as readily as they did to the 40 foot length of the 4501... so that was that, at a build of 101 IIRC.
Funny how less than 20 years later 102 inch width was allowed...!
Happy coaching!
