Yeah, the driver had gotten into another accident earlier and no one thought to make sure he was good to keep driving?
I'll be interesting to see what his driving experience is. I have to think it should be pretty difficult to hit a Denny's restaurant, but maybe it was a tight parking lot.
No excuse for falling asleep, though.
They said in the news that the earlier one he scraped a wall at the Denny's probably turning as someone said. Tells me that he was a newbie. There are a lot of old coaches that look like they have been put back in service with little maintenance. See a lot of older Van Hools at the Casinos delivering a lot of the touring Asian groups who have money to spend now. But these buses have tires that look older and cracks in the fiberglass etc. Some with no names on the sides.
Rogue Mexican operator with no FMCSA safety rating and only authorized to operate within Washington. When they dig into this they will find an illegal operation and trip. Too bad folks die just to save a few bucks.
Stopped for gas in my pickup truck a couple months back at Pilot truck stop (San Antonio Tx.) Bus stopped at entrance looking at front tire area, Driver outside bus, I stopped and was gonna talk to him about the coach and he didn't speakie no english. Had a few passengers on board.Wonder how that happens. Of course I see the 18 wheel trucks from Mexico running up and down I 10 all the time. I don't guess you need to read the signs and laws to be get around the USA.
In my neck of the woods(B.C. Canada) you can get your drivers license using an interpreter....go figure....don't know want they do when they need to read a sign
Two bits to a meadow muffin, that he spoke English; just not to you.
No telling who you are and perhaps you are in disguise. Suspicion runs rampant in these illegals. I know, I used to live in Houston and that was common practice - dummy up.
What a world.

Interpreters are not allowed in BC to take a class 1, 2 or 3 written exam or road test. I don't know about a class 5.
