After 2.5 years of work, we finally plugged into shore power today and started flipping breakers one at a time. IT'S ALIVE !!
What an awesome feeling to have electricity in the bus! And to know that I ran every foot of it myself. We must have a couple thousand feet of wire in this thing. Today, we also connected the 2 AGM 8D batteries to the Magnum MS4024 inverter, which hangs from the bay ceiling in a cage I welded up. The full-size fridge, microwave, ceramic heater, coffee maker, etc., are all humming along nicely.
Just in the nick of time, too. We (kids are 4 and 7) started full-timing in July, and it's now starting to cool off here in DC.
Next thing you know, the wife's gonna want plumbing. ;D
Mike what did you use for your 12 volt, isolator or Vanner and how big.
I have similar setup or will have.
Sounds good with the 4024 which I also have.
Dave
When things start doing what there meant to, it's a great feeling. well done Mike.

First, I left the bus's 60 amp Vanner and chassis batteries alone. I have an intertie solenoid in place, but haven't tested it yet.
I used a 30 amp Samlex 24v to 12v converter. It runs directly off the house battery (through a cutoff switch) and feeds a Blue Sea fuse block. There is an identical Blue Sea fuse block sitting next to it, but it feeds directly off that cutoff switch, so that block is 24v.
I tested the Samlex to make sure it works (it does), but I haven't flipped that cutoff switch yet, so no idea how well the Samlex work under a load or for any duration.

Lets us know when you do sounds good.
