No biggie once you remove the floor which is fairly simple to do

Being Frugal, and c#@@p , I took a wizz wheel to the aluminum, cut off about 1/2" around the steel, cut out rotted and welded in new. Some paint on the new steel and some sealant around the area worked for me. Oh yea,, drill a hole in the bottom for water to drain and it probably wont rust out again.
On a prevost that outside piece with bay door rubbers are just that. A piece of thin stainless covering a structural tube. Is that is a similar situation on your coach? If so the inside piece is the important one. Just a observation. Bob
That won't take more than an afternoon to fix. I suggest replace the whole vertical tube. It takes about the same amount of work to replace the whole tube as it does to cut and splice half a tube. Be sure to get exact measurements for the door lock brackets and floor height.
