Title: Need window rubber for Scenicruiser
Post by: MightyThor on October 02, 2014, 08:47:14 AM
My tear drop windows are currently stored In a hermetically sealed bubble wrapped container.  I would like to put them in the holes the came out of.  Surprise,  the local glass shop does not have my bus in their computer and can't match the window rubber that I showed them.  So I need to order the window rubber from somewhere and then hopefully get the windows installed.  I am also going to need the rubber for virtually all of the rest of the glass on the bus.

Give Luke a call, he is restoring a Scenicruiser for a guy and if he doesn't have it himself, he might know where to get it.

The pacific bus museum is restoring a 4501, they have had many of the rubber gaskets made. Give them a call.

Be ready for high prices. It cost me over $500 for the outside window frame rubber gaskets.

As a side note, for what it is worth, due to lots of 'tire kickers, most suppliers are reluctant to talk much. Seems they have already talked to lots of others about the same thing, but have sold very little.  :'(
So, be aware of that. . . .

Good luck with your project.

Contact Tom McNally, he is the Scenic guru and has gone though the rubber issues extensively.  FWIW, I do the Silverside rubber; have reproduced all the rubber for 3751's.
