Title: Oil Pan Bolts
Post by: luvrbus on September 11, 2014, 10:26:53 AM
Any one have a set (18) of pan bolts for the pan that uses the silicone oil pan gasket they are 1- 1/4 long with 3/8 th thread with 9/16 head but have a 1/2 inch shoulder through the pan to prevent over tightening

FWIW no I cannot change the pan the spacing of the bolts are different on the block for this pan

thanks

I think I paid around 17 dollars a bolt set up at S&S for my series 60. I was short 2 when I changed my pan. ( lost them some where ). Sounds like you might have the hard rubber doughnut if you do make your own just get the spacer the correct length. Mine are metric by the way.

It for a 8v92 Wayne I bought the pan off ebay used but almost new yea really it will take me 2 days to clean the rust off.The engine is going back in a Eagle the guy would not probably not even notice the rust 8)

FWIW S/S wants 101.00 for a set and WW.Williams wants 83.00 beyond me their price for a set of oil pan bolts, the seller when I contacted him  said I threw them in the trash I didn't know what the funny looking bolts were for, thanks for the offer but I have a set for the 60 they won't work

Try as do I cannot post a photo here all these site should be like F/B click on the camera boom you have it

This is the number I keep getting but the 5/16 throws me 5148437  I wonder if that is the head size $ 6.27 each at PC Industries.LOL 55 bucks for the silicone pan gasket

They might be a 5/16" in-hex socket head, shoulder bolts are more common with socket heads than hex heads in the catalogs.  They aren't cheap anywhere, $88 might be a bargain.

How about looking for bushings that you  could slip over normal bolts of the proper length to do the same thing?

That is not going to work Chessie these bolts have a seal and a flange I ordered the high priced things I need them and no time to look and shop Think of the 2 bolts in the valves covers same principle
