Title: Fuel priming an 8v92 DDEC
Post by: SKIP on September 07, 2014, 12:37:19 PM
I needed to remove the EDU to access replacement of the TRS/SRS sensor. That opened the fuel system, which now needs to be primed. I was thinking of tapping, adding a shutoff valve and barbed fitting to the cover on my primary Raycor 1000fg to prime the system. Seams easier than breaking into the existing line with a "T" fitting. If I pump fuel into the Rayco with a hand pump, will that push fuel thru the system?    88 Prevost with an 8v92 DDEC 1.

You can pump fuel to prime by using the drain on the bottom of the Racor 1000 it should have a barb for a hose  and if you look close there will be a plug in the middle where the lines attach to the filter for priming take a electric pump and 2 gals of fuel you will be good to go priming from either location

Now is a good time to add an electric pump inline for priming when needed; one less hassle in the future.

LUVRBUS/CHESSIE4905   Thanks   I will look for the plug and into adding a pump. Will this push fuel thru the entire system and back to the tank?
