Title: RPM Gauge MCI 8

      Looking to get a rpm gauge for a 78 mc 8 4 manual. Tried Luke at US Coach no luck, what, where are my options.

After market from www.precisionspeed.com (http://www.precisionspeed.com) in Phoenix does it have a tach now ?

Summit Racing has a programmable 3000 rpm tach for $78 that reads from the "R" terminal on the alternator. If you have a DDEC engine it reads from the 505 wire as well. It is VDO #333199

He probably has a belt driven alternator the tachs seem kinda of worthless driven from the R terminal on those for some reason

   On our 4104, we used a sender that looked at the flywheel teeth. Other than a loose wiring connection, never had any problems with it.

The tach can work with various senders and the progressive shift light option looks interesting.....

I use an Isspro 3,000rpm with hour meter. I have a synchronous generator off the back of the blower drive (same drive that can drive a mechanical tachometer). It's been the best gauge yet. Good Luck, TomC
