I'm not sure what you call them but I just backed bus in and there was this round plate with bolt in it. It is prob 4" in dia it bolts under pass side holding link and rubber bushing . It has broken bolt .. Funny it fell off here and not on highway . It mounts under spring.. What is it called ? Pd 4106 thanx

I'd think it might be a locating strut plate, but without looking they usually have two bolt holes and are about 5/16 inch thick. How thick is it? How big is the bolt hole?

This is a radius rod, keeps the axles from moving fore and aft - pretty important thing:)

Anyway, these bolts originally had safety wire to keep them from loosening since there is a lot of movement in the rubber bushings. The bushings fall apart, bolts fall out and the last bolt breaks from the strain.

You probably need a new bushing also. You will need to make a tool to insert the bushing.

Lots of discussions here on that subject. Been there:)

Get yourself a bucket of tire mounting lube, you will need it and a good press and they pop right in. HTH

Do any of you know if that broken bolt will come out somewhat easy haha. Or do you think I should look for the bracket ? It is in pass side mounted under spring. Thanx

Nothing is these old timers comes out easily!

Soak it with penetrant days before you do the job.

Some ends are easy to reach and some are almost impossible!!

A couple of years ago we snapped both of the bolts off of one of our upper radius rods. I figured they had been in there forever and i would have to drill them out. I decided not to mess with them and just ordered new bolts and the pin from Luke. After i got them i took the bus to my brothers shop to work on it. Got the pin out and just for the heck of it grabbed what was left of one of the bolts with my fingers and it turned and came right out....same with the other one!  ;D
