I think it may have been a thread Belfert started asking if busnuts would buy a house he was looking at which had a shop but the door was too small. Do a search on Belfert and , "would you buy".  Sorry. On a tiny computer so it's not convenient to search it myself.

Agree with Clifford and also they could draw up a fix or change if needed with gusset placement etc. Although sometimes they will engineer in a couple of beams to carry the load or tell you it needs to be a replacement.

In the old days we used to make them on the jobsite ourselves and then they decided a way to charge big bucks to put a stamp on a plan and ruined all our fun, LOL ;D

Since the city wouldn't allow a roof rise, I went the other way and lowered the garage floor enough to allow my bus to drive in without having to let the air out of the tires.  Since the bus is diesel I'm not worried about gas fumes collecting in the mini pit and best of all I'll have an indoor casting pond to fish in when my bus is retrired and I'm too old to drive 8).  Jack
