Title: 4106 SHEPPARD POWER STEERING CONCERN
Post by: D+C4106 on July 30, 2014, 08:08:10 PM
I have a concern about our Sheppard power steering unit.  The bushing and a seal appear to have slid down the shaft out of the cast iron body.  I am attempting to attach a photo. Wish me luck!  Does anyone know if I am missing a part between the body and the pitman arm?  Is there something that holds the bushing and seal in place?  Any help would be appreciated!

That looks familiar, I think mine did this. The nut on the end of the shaft wouldn't tighten and the steering wheel would take a small jump when I tried to turn it.

It appears the nut has fallen off yours, but it has been a while and I'm guessing.
