Title: delco remy generator

Not charging light on, used to flicker at idle and go out when revs increase now bright on.how does one test the charging system? Eagle 05- 74

turn your headlights on.  When the battery is fully charged that is when the light comes on, to show that the generator is not charging any more. Turning on your lights will use juice and after a bit the light should go off when it starts charging again.  If all of this doesn't change anything then it is something else going on. :)

Replace the relay in the back panel be sure it is 6v not 12v,make sure the 3 belts are not slipping it's probably the relay or connections at the regulator.

Turn the key and use a screw driver the F terminal should be magnetized from power showing the fields are good and go from there

Thanks for the input I did hear one of the relays buzzing that must be it. Which is the field terminal? I guess if I scrape some of the crude around the terminal the letter F might appear.
