She was sitting on the couch watching jeopardy
I was thinking then suddenly occurred to me
that maybe our marriage had lost its spark.
So I turned my attention to the internet.
There had to be something that I could get
that would pull our relationship up out of the dark.
Then that Google search led me down a road I've never been.
And I said, well I bought a bus, she said, your crazy
I just laughed and said, a little bit-maybe
but there aint no reason for you, to raise such a fuss.
And she said, I don't find it a darn bit funny
it looks like it's gonna cost lots of money.
Then I watched her stomp off and cuss.
Cuz I bought a bus.
So I jacked up the wheels and I changed the tires,
spent the rest of the weekend, just chasin' wires.
Caught her watchin' me but she never said one word.
Then I changed the oil and I fixed the steering
when it fired up, I started cheering.
I didn't care if I looked absurd.
She couldn't stand it anymore, and she met me in the drive.
And I said, well I got a bus, she said, it's foolish
I suspect she'll give in, she's just being bullish
and she'll finally see that I'm doing this for us.
And she said, you spilled oil on the concrete pad.
I said, I'll clean it up, it really aint that bad.
I was worried it could end disastrous.
When I got a bus.
Well she went off to her moms, for a week or so
and I started to build our dream chateau
with the help of my friends it looked pretty dangerous.
It had a queen size bed and a full size bath,
even I was amazed at the aftermath.
If I do say so, it was near luxurious.
Well when she got back home, I convinced her to take a tour.
And I said, we got a bus, she said, it's not so bad
I said, it's far better, than the camper we had
I say tomorrow we begin an exodus.
She said, are you sure it'll get us where we're goin'?
I said, there's no way of knowin'
but breaking down might actually be a plus-
Cuz we got a bus.
