Title: Delco 50DN Alternator and MCI MC9
Post by: wagwar on June 26, 2014, 05:44:22 PM
Does anyone know what/where the negative (ground) connection is on a Delco 50 DN on a DD 6V92T in an '81 MCI MC9? Is it grounded through the engine and frame? If so, is a ground strap advisable?

I'm installing a Sterling advanced regulator and it calls for connections to the alternator ground connection.

I've searched the web, but I have found the Field, Batt + and R1 connections on the 50DN, but no negative?

Thanks in advance.

Grounded through the chassis - it's bolted to ground, basically.  You can use any ground point that's handy on the engine.
