I started with a salvage shell.--See busprojects section 45 XLE--would I do it again? Big question.. Answer yes if I had another runnin bus (I did). Problem is the build takes 4 times longer..I do know (by hands on) what makes it tick. I selected my idea power train(shell was minus everything except rear housing). Also I know the fool who did the work on everything to date. If your into minor projects: buy converted & go camping. If your into major projects by a good solid runnin shell.. If your just plain Busnut Build crazy ...I'll leave it at that. I'm into it under 30 grand plus a lot of hrs working /playing at a Hobby I like. What's it worth to others(except family) prob scrap out price. For the new guys as about a bus model specific.. even in 90's there are some problems that cost so much to fix they are not useable... I like them all!! New /old/pro converted... Bob
Yeah Bob, some of us are lazy in the get and go department and just want the dang things to start and go with the least trouble. Of course this never happens when you own a bus. Always something broke or just not working. Mines out in the barn now with a mile long list.
