Greetings: (geez....the last time I saw that introduction was from Uncle Sam during the 60s)
My 4905 has a bad 8V71 and equipped with the stock Spicer 4 speed. They are both coming out next spring.
I have obtained a "runner" 6V92TA and also an Allison V730. They will go in during the summer.
I want to use the 8V71 cradle and mount the 6V onto the cradle and then of course put the 8V cradle back into the bus with the 6V on it. This may take a "little" modification and lots of new steel and welding.
I have had numerous discussions with, and my deepest thanks, to both Geoff Smith and Gavin Wibrow.
I am asking for all comments, suggestions, warnings, and ESPECIALLY photos, of anyone who has already done this. I would really like to get some picture of cradles which have been reconfigured to accept the 6V92 engine (or any modification to accept a different engine.
Thanks in advance for comments & hopefully pictures. I have wide band connection so please feel free to email as many pictures, or off board comments, as you desire. Please email to idaho.flyfisher@gmail.com.

Chris,
It would be good if you could track down Frank Rowe. He is in Idaho and has done the swap you are considering in a 4107.

Frank is still alive and kicking, at least he was a few weeks ago. He called me just to shoot the bull for awhile.
