Anyone know where I can find these?
That post type is called an "L terminal"-- that may help your searches. I do not know where you will find an 8D battery with those terminals. You may want to consider switching to the more common threaded stud type terminal battery. If your battery cables can rotate 90 degrees, a threaded stud battery will work. Also, you can buy adapters to go from any terminal type to any other terminal type.
prevostcommunity.com web site has some really good battery resources. one of the members is a battery guy. Also napa discount card available to everyone there prevost owner or not Jon on this board is one of the key guys there. FWIW Bob
L terminals or L blades are popular in the marine world in the wet cell I seen them made by Deka and Trojan fwiw easy to find in AGM's @ 800 bucks each, could be the angle but those sure look narrow for a 8D
This what you need Rick? ;D

I found some reasonable 8 D's at Napa with flat threaded terminals but there's no L brackets. I know those cables are hard to bend into new positions and I'm wondering if they would work. It's weird, same battery, same cca rating , both are deep cycle and one is $600 and the one's I found are $219. Since the bus will probably be sold or just sit again for awhile I'll probably see if I can make the Napa ones work. Maybe I'll use those L brackets that Dave recommended.
What's so special about the L brackets?
Just buy a regular battery with top posts, and add a lug with a screw terminal to it.

Gumpy,
I just remember that those cables didn't like to bend into new positions very much. I told JD that whoever puts the new batteries in is gonna get a hernia. There are 6 of those heavy suckers in a super tight and awkward area. He looked at me and said: "Yeah the young guys will be doing that for sure". By the way, all the hype is true, and I will never again subscribe to the idea that "power doesn't matter" and "who needs a 4 stroke?". The difference is the difference between a bicycle and a motorcycle. Not even a comparison. This certainly sealed the deal on me selling my bus. Driving a 500 HP series 60 12.7 litre was fun and it was all the folks that own one said it was.

Even if you had one, it wouldn't be enough for you.
Yep still the 5 to 7 mpg for the great power, you want some sticker shock I priced out the Linnig fan clutch for a 2001 Prevost 3 grand for a frig n fan clutch made with Chinese bearing
6-8D deep cycle batteries compute out to be 1530amp/hrs @ 12vdc-if you're using Lifeline AGM batteries. These batteries also weigh 156lbs apiece. I'm using the Lifeline L16 that are 400amp/hrs @ 6V. They weigh a much more manageable 119lbs apiece, and with using 8, will have 1600amp/hrs @ 12vdc. Lifeline has your 8D battery at $650ea. Good Luck, TomC

I went with the L16 batteries also. Manageable should be used advisably when putting them into a bay but so much better than 156 pounds. Much better footprint with the L16 being more vertical than the 8Ds; unless you are stacking the 8Ds.
The spots for these were specifically built for the 8D's and it would be expensive to change out and have all new mounts put in..I'm going with the Napa 8D's at $219 each. They have top mounted screw posts so all we'll have to do is turn each lead 45 degrees to hook them up. No length difference to worry about

A small adjustable wrench will give you a lot of extra leverage to readjust the battery cables. You will want to bend the cables as close as possible to their final resting position with the wrench before attempting to attach them to the terminals. The terminals can easily be broken off by a couple uncooperative 4/0 battery cables. I have a friend that works at a battery store that gets people trying to return brand new batteries with broken terminals every year.
Be careful and make sure the cables when you turn a 90 there is not a lot of upward pressure and have a little bit of flex up and down, side to side or it will pop the stud out from vibration BTDT ::) I have two group 31 to prove the point there is not much holding the stud in the battery
