Got alot of black stuff on roof, and I am going to be putting new seal coating up.so whats the best stuff to scrub the roof with to clean?
I have used Simple Green or the Purple stuff for cleaning mine but be carefull as the roof gets very slippery with any kind of solution. Do Not use trisodium phosfate it is a good cleaner but it can cause etching on glass.
After being in the trucking industry for 37 years, the absolute best degreaser and cleaner is Oil Eater. The only thing that it won't clean is glass-but that's what Windex is for. I use Oil Eater to clean everything-from greasy messes to road grime to spotting my carpet before running the machine over the carpet. Good Luck, TomC
As I remember, when I coated the roof with Koolseal, the manufacturer advised cleaning the roof with TSP first. As mentioned, if it does possibly etch glass, you would have to be careful. Anyway, the manufacturer of your particular coating product might have their own recommendation.
Removing the black from MC7 bus roof, used about 10% bleach in water, cleaned up nice & quick.

I use a 1700psi (cheap), electric pressure washer that has two mixing bottles for added cleaning agents. I added bleach.
I think the weak washer is best as it won't take off paint, and probably is better at not helping tiny leaks to develop like a 4000psi gas powered pump.
And yes it was slow. as in a couple of hours slow.
A car wash brush on a broom pole scrubber helps.
