I found these # 6a3799 5a on side of block, 267 LV on head and unit #5774 on blower. Can anyone tell me what they mean. Brass plate on engine date 9/27/68 plant SRP unit 5774 mileage 91217, I can't find a mileage odometer on bus any where. Thank solo
I'd say those are ID numbers the transit garage put on the rebuilt components I bought a rebuilt 8V71 from the NYC Transit Authority, they marked all the replaced parts but the new engine block they purchased from Detroit has no serial numbers on it at all.
