Title: MC9 signal light
Post by: brmax on April 29, 2014, 10:58:05 AM
Any one have ideas on parts for repairing the cracked brass light sockets on the front of my 9, housing has a grote 5017 number on the stainless part. It seem the base of the socket is pressed in and likely not a separate service item from the stainless housing, have any of you seen and or worked through this.

That should be fairly easy to do with a 90 degree bulb base or you could solder a base to housing using a pig tail socket available at most Napa stores

good luck

Hey thank you, that's a great tip I will look around a bit locally. I had just noticed some water in between the lens and gasket part on both signals, its been raining so I removed the lenses and noticed both weep holes were clear so just some gasket problems I guess.
funny how the brass split on both signals and both sides of socket with the socket mounted upside down, ice doesn't care and its suppose to be 31 tonight.
I will be glad when its above 50 again

Thanks again
