I have a windshield air motor on my 4104 with 3 air lines. I need to know how to bench test it. Do I need air going to all 3 openings, or can I block 2 of the 3? What is the proper way to test this? It is not working. I had the end plate welded where it was cracked, and now it's not doing anything. Does anyone have information on converting to a electric motor? Pictures?
Not sure but I would think 1 is run 1 is park and 1 is vent

Yes and 1 of the motors would work if I disconnected 1 of the lines? I since while trying to figure it out and tightening the airline, it cracked the pump, so I got another pump and guess what while tightening it, it also cracked, so I had it welded and now it doesn't work.
Probably melted the rubber seal to the cylinder wall. Take it apart again and free it up. I switched mine to electric and never looked back. Good Luck, TomC
It's been along time since I opened one, but there was not too much to it. Changing O-rings seemed to be about all there was to a rebuild. Maybe the heat burnt some O-rings as suggested. Hopefully it didn't damage anything else. If the exhaust port is blocked, nothing will move.
If you have a Sprague HP-200, here is a drawing showing the connections in its end: http://www.marine-doors-hatches.com/catalog/wipers/hp-200/ (http://www.marine-doors-hatches.com/catalog/wipers/hp-200/) Some while ago I printed out some troubleshooting and tech tips for Sprague motors and valves for my bus, including a nifty chart showing which air line goes where and does what, but I can't find the website I printed it from! If I find it again, I'll post the info here.
It's not like connecting electricity to the wrong place, when exciting and expensive things can happen in a hurry - if air doesn't work on A, try B, then C. It sounds like the O-rings inside are fused or melted. If you get it working, invest a few dollars in the miniature inline air mister lubricators from Harbor Fright - I put one with each wiper motor, and they now work better then ever before.

I am with Tom. switched to electric and never looked back either.
slow to fast with delay and washer. One of the best thing ever.

Do you have more information on the system you installed and pictures?
Those plastic valves generally crack with age. Mohawk should have replacements. You can put a hose clamp around the end to control the crack. Go easy when tightening.
Take and install the air motors inside a trash can the get the Autex electric wipers about 950.00 but goes in with no changes or welding etc.just pull out old ones cap any leaking lines that came off and hook electric to a 12volt source with a 10amp fuse or breaker. Done .you can also get the washer too.

Dave5Cs from Galaxy S III
Look on the net for Rome Truck Parts those guys are sharp on air wipers fwiw
Even if you had new, out-of-the-box air wipers you'd be chasing ghosts.
I'm in with Ned and Tom - buy the electric and be done with it!

I spent $200.00 on two rebuild kit's for the air push motors............they still don't work right, getting to the air lines is frustrating, electric motors are calling me.
Air wipers can be made to work smooth it just takes a little time and patience they have adjustments. All the kits I see for electric conversions look sorta of cheap made. For a rv that is not used that much I think they would hold up but with everyday use they look like the little motor would go south in a hurry trying to push a 20 inch blade everyday.
The buses and trucks with electric wipers the motor is 3 times as big as the add on system I bought a set for the Eagle and never installed the system they just looked cheap made to me for 800 bucks,Summit Racing has a lot better looking system for less than 400 that can be made to work fairly easy to each his own
I would recommend carrying RainX or something similar, no wipers required...

Yes I used rainX from Phoenix to St. Louis, but need wipers to pass the safety inspection for plates here in Missouri
Move to north carolina. anything this old does not have to be inspected.

PS i guess that they know that anything this old and still running has been taken
care of. Most of my vehicles are like that, as old as me.

quick check shows the Autoloc kits cheaper direct from manufacturer today.
