Post by: luvrbus on March 31, 2014, 05:14:42 PM
Tom,I saw 3 rv chassis from FreightLiner on their way to OR does FreightLiner sell a chassis with the DD-13 engine those sure looked like a DD-13 engine and were a hefty looking frame if so it looks like a new player in the game for the high end market

good luck

Yes Freightliner has a big 3axle for high end motorhomes using the DD13 at 500hp and 1650lb/ft torque. Not quite as high horsepower as the Cummins ISX at 625hp and 1950lb/ft torque (the highest horsepower the Allison 4000MH will take). Course if you want big power, it wouldn't take much more to install a DD16 at 600hp and 2050lb/ft torque with an 18spd UltraShift. But-I think the DD13 is more than enough power for any motorhome-including one pulling a big trailer up to the magical 80,000lbs. Good Luck, TomC
