Title: MCI 9 Mini Split AC unit
Post by: wdtjawshwdt on March 21, 2014, 05:46:46 PM
I am just wondering where guys have put the Mini splits?   I have one of the Sanyos that I am going to use for the rear portion of the bus for my bedroom.  My thought was after I bought it, before taking measurements "I think one of those could fit where the bathroom holding tank was."   Ends up not being true.   Other ideas?

Our cruise airs are in the bays.  They are all up against the doors with vents.  One sits between the door and holding tanks.  One sits beside it.  Makes getting behind it impossible.  The third in under the driver seat area.

I simply put the outside unit in the front bay.  I plan to vent the front bay door, and a vent in the bay floor.  Right now I just leave the bay door open.  The inside unit is directly above the windshield.  I also plan to put one unit in the bedroom on the back wall and share the same front bay space.

Thank you very much.   Would you guys do MiniSplits again?   I like the look of your unit Dave, that is pretty sharp.

Josh -  I did mini splits and would definitely like to try it again at some point. If we did another conversion I would plan for it for sure.

Plan on really good cooling for the outside unit.  It gets hotter than you think and needs to push a large amount of air to operate properly.

Search my posts...I've posted quite a few stories about my escapades with mini-splits.  I also have some pics up on our website.
